¿Hiciste o estás desarrollando un trabajo de investigación, maestría, doctorado o postdoc en Suiza? Preséntalo durante nuestra asamblea general en tan sólo 3 minutos!

Este año celebramos los 25 años de ACIS y queremos dar a conocer los proyectos o líneas de investigación que siguen actualmente los colombianos en Suiza. Con el objetivo de presentar varios proyectos durante la asamblea, hemos invitado a varios de nuestros asociados a presentarlos de una manera dinámica y concisa en menos de 3 minutos.

Open call – SNSF Early Postdoc.Mobility & Doc.Mobility

These funding schemes are designed to  offer doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers the chance to carry out research at a host institute abroad.

Mobility fellowships for research work at a foreign institution include payment toward living costs and travel expenses and, in certain cases, expenses incurred by conducting research and attending conferences. The amount granted is based on the applicants’ family status and on the cost of living in the host country.

  • For doctoral students
  • Duration: 6-18 months
  • Matriculated as a doctoral student for at least 12 months and at least 1 year of working experience at a research institution in Switzerland.

Convocatoria – COLCIENCIAS Proyectos de Investigación en Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y Educación

El objetivo de esta beca es generar conocimiento en ciencias humanas, sociales y educación en las temáticas de: El desarrollo humano y la calidad de vida de los colombianos para construir la paz; Humanidades, comunicación y cultura; Estudios de Ciencias Sociales y sus formas de conocimiento.

Este esquema financia proyectos de dieciocho a veinticuatro meses. La financiación por proyecto sera de máximo COP$170.000.000 La entidad proponente debe aportar mínimo 30% del valor total del proyecto.

Open call – CODEV Seed Money Grants for EPFL’s research and teaching entities

The Seed Money Grant is primarily allocated to promote the creation and launch of new projects of scientific cooperation with partners from emerging and developing countries. The key function of the Seed Money program is to fund the preparatory phase of a new project with a view to increase possibilities to leverage further external funding.

 

Selection criteria (among others)

  • The request is made by an EPFL’s research or teaching unit (institute, laboratory, college, centre).
  • The project is related to the activities of the requesting unit.
  • The project takes place in a developing or emerging country.
  • The requesting unit is actively involved in the project.

The maximum granted amount per project is CHF 20,000.

SNSF Research Day at UNIL

On 12 November 2015 as part of the Research Day, The SNSF will be visiting the University of Lausanne to present the SNSF’s funding schemes with information stands and lectures.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed information on the individual funding schemes. Researchers from all higher education institutions are welcome. An accompanying lecture will summarise the various funding schemes of the SNSF. A (panel) discussion on “Evaluation: A look behind the scenes” should provide interesting insights into how applications are assessed. Finally, participants will be given the opportunity to learn more about eligibility criteria and how to draft applications.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – Tech4Dev 2016, From Innovation to Social Impact

The 4th International Conference of the UNESCO Chair in Technologies for Development, Tech4Dev 2016, is an opportunity to: Present your research at a conference focused on innovative technologies for social impact in the Global South; network across disciplines and identify opportunities for collaboration with diverse stakeholders interested in technological innovation in the Global South.

 

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts for paper or poster presentations focusing on research results, case studies, or challenges relevant to the Breakout Sessions. The abstracts should emphasize the value of technological innovation while also acknowledging the limits of technology in generating inclusive social and economic development.  Documents will be peer reviewed and conditional acceptance will be sent by 7 December 2015. The deadline for full paper submission is 15 January 2016.

Open call – SNSF Ambizione Energy

Ambizione Energy grants are aimed at young researchers who wish to conduct an independently planned basic research project in the field of energy.

The grants comprise the researcher’s salary and project funds for a maximum of three years. Among te requirements:

  • Doctorate
  • At the submission deadline: submission of application generally up to five years after obtaining the doctorate (PhD)
  • High-level publications, particularly in energy research.
  • At the submission deadline: postdoctoral research activities for at least 12 months at a different higher education institution than the one where the doctoral thesis was written.
  • Submission Deadline: November 13th 2015.

Assistant Professor (AP) Energy Grants are created to support the development of competencies in energy research.

These grants are substantial research grants that aim to support assistant professors (or comparable positions at a university of applied sciences) who are hired to build up competences within the Swiss Competence Centers for Energy Research (SCCERs). A maximum grant of CHF 1.2 million over four years may be awarded. This does not cover the applicant’s salary.

El objetivo de esta beca es formar investigadores colombianos a través de programas de doctorado de alto nivel académico en el exterior.

Este esquema financia matrícula, seguro médico , sostenimiento hasta COP$4.500.000 mensuales, tiquetes aéreos por $4.000.000 (por una sola vez). La financiación será por un periodo máximo de 4 años y el monto total no podrá exceder $324.000.000.
