These funding schemes are designed to  offer doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers the chance to carry out research at a host institute abroad.

Mobility fellowships for research work at a foreign institution include payment toward living costs and travel expenses and, in certain cases, expenses incurred by conducting research and attending conferences. The amount granted is based on the applicants’ family status and on the cost of living in the host country.

 

Doc.Mobility

• For doctoral students
• Duration: 6-18 months
• Matriculated as a doctoral student for at least 12 months and at least 1 year of working experience at a research institution in Switzerland.

Early Postdoc.Mobility

• For postdocs starting their career
• Duration: generally 18 months
• Submission: max. 9 months before and up to 2 years after the doctoral exam and at least 3 years of working experience at a research institution in Switzerland.
